Question Defaulting the F@ST 2504 Router?

I've got the Sagem F@ST 2504 Router. I set it up over a year ago, including MAC filtering and changing the WPA password, as basic security measures. I now need to add a new device to the MAC table. Unfortunately this little box of wonders has decided that I am now no longer authorised to access the router controls, it just will NOT let me in. Don't get me wrong, I'm impressed that the security measures are working really, really well.... But it would be nice to be able to get into the control panel.

I've tried various combinations of holding the reset button in, for two seconds, five seconds, ten seconds... and disconnecting the mains power, holding the reset button in, then reconnecting the mains power, and finally releasing the reset button, and again with various delays holding the reset button in.

All to no avail. I go to 192.168.0.4, type in "admin" and "sky" (yes, without the quotes) and get told to go away in no uncertain terms. I'm being beaten by a lump of plastic and silicon and it's getting embarassing.

I've checked the Sagem website (which is as useful as a chocolate teapot when it comes to the F@ST 2504). Not only does it fail to provide any really useful information, it doesn't even provide a contact point!

I've carried out searches both using Google and within this forum. I've checked the sticky threads. Information on HOW to get the box to revert to the factory defaults is distinctly lacking. Oh, and yes, if I could find the instructions that no doubt accompanied the box when it arrived I would have read them too.

So, can anyone here explain how to get the Sagem F@ST 2504 Router to factory default? If so, please advise.

If it looks like I've already stumbled upon the process, as described above, and it isn't doing what it's supposed to, are there any other useful suggestions?

      Janner.

Hi the only way I know of is to press the button on the back of the router for more than 10 seconds until the "tick" LED lights up. The router will then reboot to factory values.

If you have pressed the reset button and the lights flashed you have set it to default. As Joss points out the address of the router is 192.168.0.1, even if you changed it, it would revert to this when you reset.

Thumbs up Re: Defaulting the F@ST 2504 Router?

      Thanks Steve,

After holding the reset button in for about 30 seconds without the 'tick' light illuminating I eventually gave up and released it. The router then went through it's reboot process and hey presto I now have access.

      Thanks again

      Isitme and Joss,

Thank you also for your replies. Yes, I committed a typo when including the IP address; the penalities for touch typing on the number keypad and not double checking what's come up on the screen

      Janner.
