      Router problem

I have a sagem router (the black one) and I installed a custom firmware. Now my router is screwed only ethernet 1 light is green all other lights including the power light is off. I'm using windows 7 and I get identifying network, I just want my router back to normal but i cant even get any internet access. I tried 192.168.0.1 but theres no internet so its pointless. Is there anything I can do before I phone sky.

      Re: Router problem

I'll let someone else chime in who perhaps knows more about installing custom firmware/restoring bricked routers and such, but in regards to calling sky - if you mention you've messed with the firmware, then they will not troubleshoot and it'll be 28 for a replacement router.

When you say 'Custom firmware' where did you get it? It looks to me like your flash has failed.

      Re: Router problem

It's going to be one of 2 things. You either need a new power supply or you need to do a furmwear upgrade. If you call sky they'll be able to talk you though this. You do however need the Sky CDROM to do the furmwear upgrade so track that down before you call.

I think she means firmware I would ask why you tried to update the firmware in the first place?
