      Epson PX710W - Netgear DG934G router

      Hi all,
Could somebody help me.I have been trying to connect my printer so all the computers in the house can use it but for some reason no other computer can connect wirelessly. My computer is connected via a usb slot so no problems.
I have Win 7, one other pc has win7 and the other 2 vista,I was on the phone to Epson for 2 hours and the eventualy told me to take it to one of their test shops.I took it and they set it up and it worked within seconds, took it home tried again but still nothing,do you think it could be a router problem as it kept giving my printer a 196 ip address until i changed it manualy.

      thanks in advance.

Dont you mean a 192 IP address? The router is supposed to give out IP addresses, if it's not getting the right one then that means the printer is using an auto configuration address.

No I meant a 196 address I had to go in and manualy give it a 192 address. When speaking to Epson they said that the 196 my router gave my printer was a insecure address thats why I couldn't connect. But I have manualy set it up now and still cant connect..

Are you connecting to the router by ethernet or are you trying to use wireless?

      Re: Epson PX710W - Netgear DG934G router

As far as I know the router cant give out 196 addresses, if anything the printer is doing what windows does and giving "itself" an address, either the router isnt giving it one or the printer is ignoring the routers address. It's a long shot but is UpNP on in the router? It may be needed for this sort of thing!

      Re: Epson PX710W - Netgear DG934G router

See if you can get it to connect and operate with ethernet first. If it works then you can move on and try with wireless.

Normally when an address cannot be obtained from the router, a device will give itself a 169 address not 196.
