Slow speeds and lots of disconnects!
Hey,
I'm trying to resolve an issue with a friends sky connection. Recently he's been getting lots of disconnects and really slow speeds that result in him having to power cycle the router. It used to be the netgear router, but sky changed this for the sagem one to try and resolve this issue.
The sagem router is currently plugged into the BT test socket and all other phones around the house have been disconnected.
Here are the line stats from the router.
Connection Speed: 2176kbps Down, 448kbps Up
Line Attenuation: 41.0db Down, 19.5db Up
Noise Margin: 16.1db Down, 19.0db Up
Does anyone have any recommendations?

The speed is capped when theres more to be had with those stats he should have 6mb sync on the downstream and more on the up. SKY need to uncap it for a start, additionally download routerstats lite and run it over a period of a few days and check for any sharp decreases in noise margin.

It looks like a Connect connection. If the router has been changed Sky should now escalate the problem to BT. Nothing you can do except phone Sky back and ask them to get BT on the job..

AS Tom Say`s Connect. The 448kbps upstream is the give away which is the Bt re-badged product. The way to confirm if you are not 100% sure try to run the Bt Updated Speed Tester As only Bt products can use the tester. LLU products cannot.
