Connection speed ?
How can I check what my connection speed is in megabytes as all I am able to get is Download speeds and upload speeds?
If I go into dial up networking all I see is my Ethernet connection icon which tells me what the network card can take (100mpbs) Activity Sent & Received with two large numbers in bytes. . I need to know how to get the MB/s readout & where to find it. Or have I to download a piece of software.
Sorry for being so Thick!

Go to Router Status then Show Statistics. The connection speed is shown in Kbps. Note that this is the modem sync speed, so the actual speed you get when browsing and downloading will be less due to various overheads.
Try a speed test site to get an idea of what you are reallly achieving. There are plenty of links in the Speed Test forum on this site.

These figures will include some overheads for protocols, so your actual data transfer rate will be slower than these figures. They are also quoted in BITS per second.
Actual transfer rates to web sites vary depending on location and connection routes. You can get a general idea of these rates by looking at some adsl speed test sites such as http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/. Some of these give a rating in BYTES per second, which will be lower than your connection speed (8 bit per byte)

I am referring to the figure relating to the Broadband speed itself.
IE: 1Mg Broadband
2 Mg Broadband
