Well I'm going to try disabling the UPnP to see if it makes any difference with my disconnects but I have periods of 1 hour or less where I can't access the web and other periods of several hours, sometimes a quick re-seat of the ADSL line works other times I need to reboot the router.

What else could I try to curb the disconnects?

Wow, possible answer or it may be coincidence, disabling UPnP.
woke up this morning, download had completed and my connection was still alive, let's see how long now before I need to reboot the router.

Well Ive had UnPn disabled this whole time and last night between 6 and 7 my internet was a disgrace... of and on every 10 mins. Then after 730 onwards it was a saint.

I had the stats up while playing and the nose margin never dropped below 5.8, being at around 7 mostly and unless it froze when my internet messed yup, the connection speed stayed the same too.

1 think we diod notice last night was that if anyone else tried to access the web or email on the iother computer or wireless laptop, both of us got severly slowed down. So only 1 person can use the at a time

So I am now guessing it isnt the line speed being too high.. what are my next moves?

5.8 is too low. Ideally it should be about 8 at the worse time for a good stable connection. Try rebooting when it gets to about 6.3 or there abouts

only problem I have now is if I have the filter plugged in and try to use the phone the sound is very quite and almost impossible to hear the caller. if I take the filter out of the system the sound is great on the phone. I have tried 6 filters sofar and all the same. BT have tested the line and say no fault found.

      Any ideas

If you still have an old ticket number, you can use it to ask manila (tier 1) to transfer you to tier 3. they will do it.
