Black net gear router rebooting itself

My black net gear router has recently gained the habit of rebooting itself over and over sometimes for 10 minutes at a time, works lovely in-between these reboot periods?
I've watched it reboot all lights go off, 4 Ethernet lights coke on for a second then the lower set start to do there thing, take 2 attempts for orange adsl light to go green most of the time.
Recently uorgraded to max, it was last week, do I have impending router failure or is it testing my line?

Re: Black net gear router rebooting itself

It could either be the router or the PSU. If you have a 12v psu such as a laptop charger handy, then substitute that for the router's original psu and monitor it from there. If it stays solid, then you've confirmed it's the PSU and call up sky and they'll send a free netgear PSU your way.

Of course, if a spare PSU doesn't fix it then it's a router fault and again sky will send a new one your way free if you call up (assuming you joined in the last 12 months), which will also come with a new PSU.
