      Router problem

I have the white netgear router ,a few years old .
Suddenly can't get any connection .Can you advise ,if no wires are plugged into router ,what lights , if any , should show .
At present ,with no telephone/computer wire plugged in , when you switch on , the 1,2,3,4 lights briefly show , and then go out leaving no lights showing .
Tried the rest button ,but nothing appears to happen ,no lights ,nothing .
Has it failed ? If so , what is best buy source as presumably don't know qualify for Sky replacement ?Thanks

      Re: Router problem

If you have a laptop charger that happens to be a 12v PSU that fits into the router, try that in place of the router's original power cable. If that sorts it, then it's the PSU and you can call sky to get sent a free netgear PSU.

If that doesn't boot the router up with all the usual lights, then it's the router itself. Calling sky will mean 28 for replacement.
