      Netgear V2 Router

I have purchased another Netgear V2 Router so that i can see if i can improve the wireless reception on it (New aerial)

If it all works how can i get my ADSL user details on the new router while hopefully keeping the original firmware.

I already know how to get the details out my old router!

I already know how to get the details out my old router!
Then do the same with your new one. I should point out that if the new router is registered with Sky there is a good chance the details from it have been extracted are in use by another user with their own router. If it is not registered, it will not matter, as the username and password will not work. If the username and password are in use by another user, there is a good chance trying to connect with it will raise a red flag with Sky and cause complications.

I dont think you understand I brought a new router of ebay and want to use that with my connection details.

The only way i can think is to flash the router with netgears own firmware or can i input new connection details into the sky own firmware

If the new router is the same as the one you currently use why do you think it will have better range?

      Re: Netgear V2 Router

You would have to flash the firmware on your new router to use your own log in details.

If you are going to follow the advice given elsewhere in the forum about adding an external aerial, you would be better doing this first and checking that your reception is improved. You can do this by piggy backing it on to your Sky router. If it works, you could then flash it.

Yes, but why would you want to flash it back? If you mean you want to use your own login details on it with the Sky firmware, I don't think that's possible. The router generates the password and username when it logs in, so at best you would log in with the original details or fail to log in completely.
