Surprise surprise, they've not had any complaints about the IP reservation bug so I told em to google this forum. As he said he was writing down my comments to be passed on (probably to the bin) I also had a mini rant about letting the users know when an upgrade is imminent.
I e-mailed Sky last night and got a reply around 03:30 in the morning!
According to the lady who e-mailed me I was not the only one to raise this issue, and apparently it has been escalated.

As a temporary, and not ideal fix, I was advised to load the original firmware from my Sky set-up CD.

I don't suppose anyone out there has the 'special' firmware, something like 1.9.2, the one that you had to ask specially for, that apparently fixed VPN? That would be ideal.

I emailed Sky last week as soon as I found this problem, had no response back accept the automatic reply email.

There is a work around for the IP reservation problem.

Reserve an IP address above 200 and then go and edit it to change it back to what ever you want.

Can I download the new FW from somewhere please and flash the router myself?

No, it is only available from the Sky servers. With the amount of bugs being reported, I am surprised anyone wants it. Sky may even have taken it off their server until it is sorted out.

Ah ok, thanks mate. Just that I saw that it enabled the use of WPA2 which is a good thing, but I guess if the FW is floored it's not worth having

So the only change is WPA2? Seems a bit of a big jump from 1.9 to 2.6!

Yes it kind of suggests they have had quite a few attempts at it and still have not got it right.

I've found the best work-around is to temporarily disable javascript when you get the error and turn it back on again after the page is submitted.

      Re: Sagem Firmware 2.6 upgrade?

Yeah, I have now given up on this router and went back to my Netgear.
Sky has had plenty of time to sort this out but it doesn't look like they want to.

Not only was this a bad firmware update but the router was very slow when accessing the configuration pages, and I also didn't like the wireless coverage, thought it was very poor.
