      Poor range

      Hi

I have the standard sagem router that Sky sent me and I'm getting 16/18 meg so I'm happy there. The problem I am having is wireless dropping or poor range in the house.I hhave the router plugged straight into the faceplate for optimum signal but the rest of the house looses the wireless because it's too far away, probably looking at acheiving another 10 metres or so.

I am in possesion of a second router that Sky sent me by accident so I have a Netgear and a Sagem one,and I will happily spend a small amount of cash to fix this issue, hopefully without wires.

      Many Thanks in advance.

      Re: Poor range

if the spare one is a white netgear then try that one on its own i had one for years faster wireless speed and far superior wireless range, only reason for replacement was a faulty modem section causing frequent line drops and poor sync speeds replaced by sky with the black netgear, about half the range and half the wireless speed but a steady stable line at 8188mps or whatever its quoted at,

      Re: Poor range

If you have a large house with thick walls your best solution would be a Homeplug network. This will give you an idea -

If you have a spare router, this could be plugged in at the other end of the network to allow you to use wireless devices in that location.
