      Dg843 dropping line

      Hi

I have the old netgear router and a newer sagem. I have used the netgear for quite a few years, and when i moved house i went back to the netgear. This was due to the poor range i got out of the sagem on wireless.

The other day the netgear keeps dropping the connection very 10-15 min, i thought i would have to ring sky who would probably just reduce the speed of my line (which i did not want as i do not get that much due to the length of my line). So i thought i would give the sagem a whirl, i could not believe that the router only rebooted once, (and has done so every day at around the same). Now i am back to the problem when i first got the sagem, poor wirless. Is it worth ringing sky and asking for a netgear replacement (as i assume it must of gone faulty)

No DG834GT any more from sky, have you tried the usual tricks of changing wifi channel on the sagem to see if you can increase the range.

Allthough I still would recocmend you conect the netgear to the Test socket for 24hrs via a known working filter and monitor if it still drops as much, there might still be a setup issue but the sagem is just a little better and managing it probably by syncing lower, also check for noise on the phoneline.
