How to fix weak wireless signal on BSkyB DG934G

      Hi,

It's a common complaint that the wireless signal level is very low from the BSkyB DG934G, aka version 2 router. I've found a simple and cheap solution to this.

I've disassembled the router and found that there are two internal antennae. I think the receiving antenna is a waveguide type. It's essentialy a piece of metal that is folded over and connected via a coax cable to the PCB. The transmit antenna is a split dipole type made of two inline tracks on the pcb which are also connected via a coax cable to the PCB. I've disconnected the latter and connected it to an external 9dbi antenna by soldering the conductors in the coax cable onto the PCB. I drilled a small hole in the case to allow routing of the coax cable.

I now get a really good wifi signal throughout my house including upstairs.

Hope this will be of help to somebody.

P.S. the title should read weak wireless signal
