Sagem router - new firmware gone wrong

      Hi everyone,

I have a sagem router here and was going to try and upgrade the firmware on it so can use it as an access point.

I followed this guide and installed the new firmware

Sagem router has been cracked - take 2

But when it reboot all i had was a solid light on port 1 (ethernet) and when i tried going to 192.168.1.1 it just timed out and said no internet connection.

So have tried resetting the router that has not worked, also tried using the cd to put it back to the old sky one but again that did not work.

Any ideas where i might have gone wrong?

      Thanks

Are you giving your PC a fixed address of 192.168.1.2 as advised in step 5?

Bugger, I thought that might have been the problem,

Have you tried turning off any firewall you may have running on the PC?

Try opening a Command Prompt and typing ipconfig /all see if this gives you an address for the router.

Unlikely as in its "raw" state. just after flashing, it doesn't have a DHCP server running which is why the PC has to be given a static IP address to connect to the router and give it its MAC address.
