Oh dear, it's painfully slow. With BT a page changed in a fraction of a second, now it's taking up to 3 minutes to turn.
I only live 50 yards from our telephone exchange, Daily I delete cookies, temp files and history, I defrag every week.
My Pc used to be lightning fast, but since having Sky it is terribly slow.

I've just done a speed test which here are the results:
      Download 6320 kbps
      Upload: 329 kbps

      Anyone know what they mean?
      Regards
      Ron

I think I speak for most on here when I say cancel Connect and get out as soon as you can, It is just an excuse for a broadband service. It is a pity you did not come here before you joined -

You present problems are probably down to your line training, but it will not get a lot better, especially during the peak time.

Do an Official Test, details are in the link above.

Re: From BT to Sky (Oh dear)

Thanks for the reply, I've just done that test.
DSL connection 7616 (Down) 448 (UP)
      I don't know if that's good.

They told me that because of the area I live, they could only give me Sky Connect, I don't know why because our telephone exchange is right across the road from our house.
I cant get any sense from Sky help at all.

It will be because your exchange has not been unbundled by Sky for their LLU service. What exchange are you on?

Re: From BT to Sky (Oh dear)

Sky have not enabled it. Which is strange as it is quite a large exchange. About the only alternative you have to BT or one of their rebadged products like Connect, is TalkTalk. I think they own just about all of the LLU providers on your exchange. It may be worth giving them a look. The only down side is you would also have to take their phone service. If you are very close to the exchange they will be able to give you a fast speed.

Re: From BT to Sky (Oh dear)

Blimey, you have opened my eyes there. It's little wonder my PC is going so slow.
It was really fast when I had BT Yahoo. I'm annoyed, because Sky told me that I
would have excellent connection and very fast speeds.
I'm stuck with them for a year now, but you can bet I'll be with BT or Talk Talk next year.
      Thanks for your expert help.

If you've just gone onto Sky then you have 8 days cooling off but tbh people are being allowed to leave due to the issues regarding Connect...if you can, just go

I've just Emailed the broadband team to say I am most dissatisfied with my connection, and that I feel they conned me. I'll see what they say.
