      Re: rumors heard

Theres a bit of confusion here.

At the moment anyone taking BT Infinite products, which requires FTTC, has an enginners fit at the premises. This includes a SSFP (filter faceplate) and therefore if necessary a new master socket to accept it. This is how Broadband used to be.

In the fullness of time these products will become a "wires only" product, where the end user does their own install, as broadband is now.

Routers etc are provided by the ISP as now.

It remains to be seen if Sky go for the wires only option from the word go.

      Re: rumors heard

BT Openreach provide all the bits (the fibre, roadside cabins etc) to make FTTC work. It is up to individual ISP's to decide how they fit their customers kit in the home ie they can pay Openreach to do it, or sell a wires only product.

      Re: rumors heard

If you are using a filter faceplate now, then its just the same.
