    i have left router on for 10 days

      i have left router on for 10 days

      hey guys

      im on sky unlimited bb and i was getting download speeds of 6 meg and 300 kb upload its been almost 10 days since i got put onto the new broadband package , and these are the speeds im getting

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 8191 kbps 252 kbps
      Line Attenuation 40.0 db 20.2 db
      Noise Margin 13.4 db 31.0 db

      why has my upload dropped but the download has gone up? i havent switched my router of for almost 10 days

      theres room for a bit more download speed and alot more upload speed there, if DLM has finished i would call sky and get them to reconfigure the line

      Sorry to jump in, but how on earth did you work that out? Im very impressed and once i get up and running with BB i would love to know if there is more i could be getting without having to start a new thread.

      hey misfit thanks for the reply

      should i just leave the router on until wednesday and if the speeds stay the same call and ask them to reconfigure? will that be another 10 days?

      If you have been on DLM for 10 days, call them and ask for your line to be manually configured.

      hey

      called sky today and they manualy configured my line these are my new results

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 11739 kbps 957 kbps
      Line Attenuation 39.5 db 20.2 db
      Noise Margin 7.0 db 5.5 db

      just went to speed test.net and this is what i get

      download 10.10mb upload 0.80mbs ping 53ms does this look good enough?

      That is pretty good. The upstream noise margin is a bit low, but it may be OK. If it does cause problems they will be able to trim a bit off the upload to correct it.

      internet seems a lot sluggish since a couple of hours ago when it was configured
