You would have to plug your other router in to sky router via Ethernet cable. Then disable wireless in the sky router and DCHP in the second router. The you can use the second router wireless.

      Re: connecting routers-dg834gt to a linksys wag54g

      Hello Everyone,
I have just connected my Belkin modem router 125mps to my sky modem router with a ethernet cable, i then switched them on and they booted up ok, but when i go into networks available and connect to my belkin modem router it connects ok but it says it is only running at 54mps and when i try to go on line it just gives me an error, could not find site.oh i have an N wireless network card fitted.
In one of the router posts it says that i need to disable wireless on my sky modem router and disable DCHP in my Belkin modem router, could someone please tell me how to do this, i am not very good at these sort of things.
I read in another post that i am alright doing this as the sky router is still the one plugged in to the exchange, so i am not breaking any sky rules i hope.
I hope some kind person can help me.

      Ross Anthony.

You have it the wrong way round...

Disable sky wireless and enable DCHP in sky router....

IN other router enable wireless and disable DCHP

Why does the wireless need to be disabled - could the OP just use a different SSID / channel (a few apart) on each router?

Yes it does need to be disabled. for the simple reason he wants to benefit from the wireless N router. If you tried to do as you suggested, it just would not work.

      Re: connecting routers-dg834gt to a linksys wag54g

      Hello again joss,
I finally got round to linking my Belkin modem router to my sky modem router, i managed to do wat you said, Belkin modem router is working fine, i am able to get on the net now no problem, however it is still only running at 54mps. When i bought the belkin modem router125g, i also got a network card 125g, it worked ok then, since then i have been useing the sky router, i have now got a new computer which has a TP-LINK wireless N adapter, perhaps i need an N class modem router for it to work with my adaptor.
Thought it might work, never mind.
      Thanks again for your help.
      Ross Anthony.

Question Re: connecting routers-dg834gt to a linksys wag54g

      Hello everyone,
After the problem of my modem router still running at 54mps, after i had piggy backed it to my Sky modem router although it will run at 125mps, i thought i would connect up my old computer which has the Belkin 125mps adapter, i did this and booted it up, when i checked what speed it was running at it was 125mps, so you cannot run the Belkin 125mps modem router with a N adaptor, you will only get 54mps.
So now that i am happy the two modem routers work ok together, i will have to get myself an N modem router to go with my N adaptor. Could someone tell me if all N modem routers will go with my N TP-LINK adaptor, or do you have to have the same make as the adaptor.
i hope some one can help.
      Thanks Ross Anthony.
