      Sagem router drops connection 20 times a day!!!Help

      Hi

      I need some advice please cause I'm on my last! I have the black Sky
      Sagem router and it worked fine. The last few weeks it just started dropping th connection for no reason at all, even when i'm not using the internet. The light with the "@" sign just goes orange for a few mins and then goes green and starts working. The last few days it's dropped out more than 20 times and it took an hour to come back on.

      I reset the router twice, keeping and holding the button for more than 10 secs, rebooted it with 192.168.0.1, turned it off for 10 mins and back on, changed the filter on the socket, unplugged the phone and it still keeps doing it. I only have one bt box and i am using the router with the ethernet cable. Nobody else is on it and nobody knows the network key. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Upnp is turned on too.

      Do you have a test socket you can try? What else is on the telephone line? Do you have sky+ or similar still plugged into the telephone line? What happens if you unplug everything from the telephone socket except the filter and router?

      Post youe router stats, you may have developed a line fault or got a dodgy filter.

      If you can post the stats from the current and the TEST socket that would help narrow it down.

      Only the router is plugged in. tried 3 different filters now. Sky isn't plugged into the phone line. What is a test socket and what do you mean by stats? thanks

      Test stats. So how do you lower the noise then?

      The test socket stats show a noise problem with your internal wiring which is common. If you have any wires in the back of the faceplate in terminal 3 then remove them, you dont need them, this may help.

      You would also benefit from fitting a filtered faceplate, this would mean that the router would need to be positioned by the master socket though.

      I've been having almost exactly the same problems as the OP. It just started a few weeks ago. I've took a screenshot of the router stat's -



      Are these poor? They seem similar to the noise figures for the above user. I've tried connecting to the test socket, but there is no ADSL signal at all unless I replace the faceplate and then plug in the filter as normal.

      These stat's are taken from the main socket, but like I said, not the test socket. Before I the router was downstairs, connected through many metres of ext.cable.
