Router locking up?

Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before, but have had Sky for about a month now and am pleased with the speed especially after connecting directly to the inside of the master socket (went from 3.1 to 5.6), but every morning I have to reboot the router and it seems if left for more than 1 hour with no activity it will drop out again and needs to be rebooted. Not much fun when the wife and kids get on and complain this new sky bb won’t work again! I have read the post about wireless probs but am using a LAN connection so I'm not sure that applies. Any fixes anyone?
Ps have never been able to logon to the sky web site are they still having problems.
