Problems with Sky Sagem router phase 2 (F@ST 2504)

      1. Logout

On the Router Status page (http://192.168.0.1/sky_router_status.html) for Firmware Version 1.9Sky, clicking on LOGOUT (sky_logout.html) goes back to the authentication page. Entering the password logs you in again; otherwise an error message results: "401 Unauthorized. Authorization required."

Is this a bug common to all Sky Sagem routers, or a fault on this particular one?

(By contrast, on the Sky NetGear v2 if you click on LOGOUT it logs you out. Simple, really.)

      2. User interface unresponsive

Today the user interface, whether wired or wireless, was failing to respond at all - it did not get as far as the login dialog box. This was fixed by power recycling the router. If it happens again I shall call Sky support, but is this a known Sagem problem?

From what I have read these routers are not very good and do have there problems, one being the wireless on them is surpose to be poor. If it keeps on phone sky and tell them you want another routers.

How disappointing that no-one with a Sagem router can be bothered to reply, just someone stating an opinion "From what I have read".

Re: Problems with Sky Sagem router phase 2 (F@ST 2504)

The Sagem's if anything have a better chipset in them (Broadcom as opposed to Texas Instruments) but the wireless is an issue if you leave it on Auto as opposed to setting a channel manually...other than this there's aren't many issues - I've got a Netgear but the only reason people don't like the Sagems is it not working properly with VPN access...

Re: Problems with Sky Sagem router phase 2 (F@ST 2504)

      Agreed in general re. Broadcom.

Wireless works fine as used here (Channel set to 11 as near neighbours use 1 or 7).

      No VPN requirement at present.

But does anyone else have the issues mentioned in the original post?
