      Wireless printing

      Hi all,

I've a Epson R340 printer which I want to set up wirelessly so it can be used by 2 PC's in my house . I have a DG834 router . The printer doesn't have wireless capabiltilies as standard . Is it possible to connect a usb print server to the DG834 and printer to get this to work wirelessly

      Thanks in advance

      Re: Wireless printing

Sure is. Netgear do a print server that is very easy to use and set up. WGPS606

I also had the belkin print server and it was useless, very difficult to set up.

Currently I am using an Airport Extreme, more difficult than the netgear, but has loads more functions as it's not just a print server.

      Re: Wireless printing

Thanks for the reply . surely for this to work this would be connecting to 2 wireless points the DG834 and this print server at the same time - which I didn't think was possible . Or are you just suggesting connecting the wireless print server to the DG834 via ethernet and bridging to the print server . In which case why do I need the expense of a wireless print server when a wired one would do the same job . Is it possible to use the DG834 to bridge to the print server.

Sorry for a lot of questions I know , but want to make sure the product I do eventually get will do what I want it to do . Thanks

      Re: Wireless printing

The netgear one connects to the router like a laptop (although you need to use ethernet to do the initial set up).

The printer then plugs into the netgear print server.
