      Wireless Signal Booster

      Hi

I've recently moved over to Sky from BT and have been having problems with the Sagem Router that Sky supply. Previously I was on BT Total Broadband and hardly ever had any issues with their router.

The main problem I'm having is with my Xbox 360 in my upstairs bedroom (Sky router is in downstairs living room). Before I could get full 4 bars signal to my xbox witht the BT router no problem, but now with Sky I can barely scrape 2 at best and often lose connection completely.

I've phoned Sky about this and they say there is nothing they can do, as when I move the xbox closer to the router it works fine.

I'm thinking of buying a wireless signal booster to try & fix this problem but was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue & if they managed to resolved it?

      Thanks

Have you tried logging on the router (http://192.168.0.1 login = admin/sky) and changing the wireless channel from Auto to one from the list - I'd start at 13 and work you way down. Also change the wireless mode to g only.

That seems to have done the trick, up to the 3rd bar which works fine.

      Re: Wireless Signal Booster

If anyone else is having trouble here is what I used. I was having frequent disconnects when playing my PS3 online because my signal strength would drop. IF I was lucky I would occasionally get around 30% strength sometimes. With this addition I have NEVER disconnected and sit around 90% strength now. Here is the link --->CLICKY HERE PLEASE<---

Also my wifes laptop went from 2 bars to 5 bars!!!! Just remember to point it in the direction where you need it,lol.
