Hi Guys i have the sky max/unlimited package with the black netgear dg934 router. I am looking to buy a non sky router hoping it can maybe improve my online gaming as i understand a better ping/snr is achievable. Any ideas on which model will be bast suited to me? Thanks guys
This is the sync i currently get and attached is my snr taken from routerstats

There will be little to no difference by changing the router, the ping is really down to distance to the server you are using. The SNR is down to the conditions on your line.
The best way to improve gaming is to ensure you have had your max delays reduced to 8 (call Sky if you haven't had this done), make sure you are using a wire or homeplugs to connect the game console to the router, NOT WIRELESS and practice.
Thats strange because if i connect my 2700hgv 2wire router it syncs at a higher up/download speed and my down snr is aprox 8,. and its a lot steadier! Shame i cant get it to work with sky though. Hence my Qs about the routers. Thanks
ps: maybe my dg934 is a bit dodgy?

Different routers interpret and display the stats differently, none can remove noise on a line that is already there.
If you can match a routers chipset to the same chipset at the exchnage you may find a slight improvement as they will be designed to work together but honestly, I wouls save your money, they won't make any real difference to the ping times.
You didn;t say if you were using wireless or not, this is the first thing I would change if you are, it will make the biggest difference.
