it's at 7dB, and always has been...up and down...

Why then do 4 different routers show the upstream margin is 8dbs?

Re: Coming Soon: Best Router For Sky BB

It has to be the way in which the sky network is set up, I can get an upstream of 1211Kbps and still the SNR is at 8db which shows that there is still more speed there to get, I would say it is just sky that cannot utilize the remaining speed, I bet if I was on say o2 then the SNR would be lower and synced at 1.3Mb or close. after all they are using the same tech.

Re: Coming Soon: Best Router For Sky BB

Sky can't do it, the front end used to configure the lines goes to 7dB lowest...

well, I say can't - depends who you get on the phone...BUT, the Sky don't go lower as speed isn't paramount - stability is...same as to why they don't offer fastpath...

Re: Coming Soon: Best Router For Sky BB

which they all are by default - Sky would only increase it due to intermittency issues...you'll be on 7dB now...
