Decided I know bugger all about attenuation, so could any good types out there study the following stats and comment on whether they are good or bad.

You appear to live in the telephone exchange ;-)

Might just have been XBL having an off session.

      Cheers GRM,

I live around 80 metres across the road from the exchange.
So I guess that the lower the better in the attenuation /noise ratings?

Not quite, low attenuation = good, low noise margin = bad. Your attenuation is very good, your noise margin just on the default, which is not bad as long as it does not drop any more. With your attenuation you should easily get 20 Mb, you have noise problems on your line. Plug into the Test socket, link below and take your stats from there.

Are you using wireless, If so that will be your problem with the Xbox as your speed is plenty fast enough.

Although you attenuation is very good, I would expect the full 20mb for you. If you cannot get it then nobody can.

You noise margin is at the default so I suspect you have some noise on your line, if you have a test socket try to get the stats from there and let's see.
