      intermittent discon

i have a serious problem with my internet. its keeps cutting out randomly at different time intervals. usually it would cut off after a couple of hours but latelly the problems worse. however it seems the problems are spontaniuos. it could be fine for days before the problem arises again and usually worse that it was before. i got the black netgear router which i think may be a likely cause of the problem. sometimes the light that indicates its connection stays green (working) although its not. also i have seen it flash orange and green at the same time. primarily i thought it was the internet wire that connects to the line but even when i took it out the green light for the connection stayed on. i would like to know the most likely culprut before i start replacing things that dont need to be replaced. so anyone that can help would be greatly appretiated.

      Re: intermittent discon

The light cannot flash orange and green at the same time, it may however seem to flash in sequence. We need your stats (there is a link on the left about them <<<< ) to give us an idea of what is happening. Also an overview of how you connect the router to the tel line, how many sockets on the line in total, how many in use and how many filters you are using. Also do you have Sky tv and is it on the telephone line INTO a filter or straight into the socket?
By the way where did you get those numbers from and what is set to 192.168.0.0 ?

      Re: intermittent discon

You have a good attenuation but a poor sync speed and noise margin. This points to some noise on the line. Do you have a test socket? if so we need to see the stats from there.

See signature below for detials of what to do and what it looks like.

      Re: intermittent discon

Can you please plug your router into the TEST socket using the cable supplied. Using a poor quality telephone extension can cripple your connection and give inconsistent results. You should really have a sync speed in excess of 16b.
