      Network key, Sagem

My laptop is an Acer Aspire, using Vista.. My Sky broadband is working well with the ethernet connection. However, in trying to set up a wireless connection, my laptop will not accept the eight digit key supplied with my router. It demands a thirteen digit key. Can anyone tell me if i can overcome this, please?

Have you had it connected to another network? It looks like it is asking for a WEP key which it may have used on a previous network. Also make sure you are trying to connect to your own router and not someone's nearby. It is an easy mistake to make now that Sky have so many users. Try changing the SSID on the router to a unique name, then you will be sure you are connecting to it.

If you have never changed the Network key on the router, then I get the feeling
your trying to conect with the Acer Wireless Utility and have the wrong key type
      selected...

Just use the windows wireless manager its less hassle

Click Start / Conect To / Show Wireless / Pick Your Sky Routers Ssid / Enter Your Network Key in Caps.
