      Router help

I am haveing trouble going wireless on my sesktop as I said in the wireless/adapter sub forum. I have been given a Netgear DG834G v 4 but with out the setup disk so I am asking If I can get a setup disk will the netgear modem be any better than the Sagem I am using. It has the same 192.168.0.1 sticker on the underneath.

      Re: Router help

You don't' need the setup disk that comes with the routes , they just have a tutorial explaining how to get connected and McAfee.

What exactly are the problems your having?

      Re: Router help

You can use an ethernet cable , plug that router into the back of the sky one and use the Thomson as the wireless access point , try that and playing with the settings on the Sky router.

      Re: Router help

I have done that but it still don't work. The only problem it has given me it takes the router a very long time to connect.By trhe way I lent my wireless adapter to my next door friend and it worked OK on his setup.

      Re: Router help

Yes he did and I tried his on mine, also our laptop workd OK there as well. I have tried all 13 channels but it seems it does not want to know the desktop. Do you think it is worth setting up via the control panel?
