What does this light code mean

      Hi,

MySagem F@ST2504 has had a nervous breakdown I believe; it's got the power light and the test (the tick symbol) light on, steady green. After a few moments these go out, and the @ light comes on for under a second then goes out, and the first two lights come on again. This repeats infinitely.

The symptoms are that wireless has failed, and even connected to it via cable, it will not respond to pings except for a couple of seconds (during which time I've attempted to access the web interface, but no joy).

It started doing this last Wednesday, then worked during Thursday, but had failed by Friday evening. I tried to speak to sky, but they put me on hold after logging the call for so long waiting for "Customer Solutions" that the batteries in my phone ran out before I got to speak to anyone. I gave up on it, but it started working on Saturday afternoon (assumed a zealous engineer at Sky had resolved it remotely).

Unfortunately this problem resurfaced last night. Anyone know what the light code means, or even better, a resolution? Failing that, how do you factory reset the device - can't seem to find the answer here despite searching.

      Thanks,

      Will

To factory reset it stick a pin or a pen into the small hole on the back for about 10 to 15 seconds whilst switched on.

Thanks for replying But damn, i tried that, had no effect. Thought the procedure may be more convoluted.

Any other ideas on the light code or resolution chaps - I'd rather avoid wasting any more of my life talking to Sky.

Now is the time you wished you had your username and pass word plus an old router Has it overheated? unplug it and let it cool a bit, 1/2 hour should be enough. try the reset again but this time hold in for 30 secs

Don't think so, left it off all night, no effect. I'll give it the 30 second reset when I get home.

It could be the power supply, have you got another one on anything else you could try, even just to get the details out of it.

Re: What does this light code mean

Unfortunately no. Damn thing started working again when I rebooted it as I came in the door last night, then failed again at midnight. Seems to be pretty much the same time as last week. Out of town now till Sunday night, by which time, who knows, the blasted device will probably be working again.
