Unless the router allocates the IP then it won't show it. Is the NAS set up for DHCP (the router gives it an IP address).

You need to go back into the NAS setup. Where you looked at its IP before.

      Angry Re: Router and NAS

I can't get back into that either now. I've had enough of it.

It's going back. The support for it (CD) is terrible, no FAQ or help !

If 90 was easy to come by, I'd introduce it to my pick axe.

Any reccomendations for a NAS that anyone has here ? PC world is on my doorstep.

      Re: Router and NAS

You changed its IP address, therefore changing the address you have to access it via. If you changed the IP address to 192.168.1.23 then you would access it via http://192.168.1.23
Hopefully you changed its IP address to something on the same subnet as your PC. The first three (192.168.1 in my example) Octets have to be the same on both the NAS and the PC you are using.

      Re: Router and NAS

If you plug it back into your PC and put 192.168.0.254 in the browser address bar, you should be able to access it. That is if you changed the address as I recommended. Can you still access the settings. If you can, see if there is an option to 'Obtain an IP address automatically' if there is try that. If the router then sees it, you will have to reserve the address it is using in the router.

      Re: Router and NAS

I changed the address to 192.168.0.254 but it won't recognise that either, or the original. I tried to reset it but it won't oblige. My router is 192.168.0.1.

      Re: Router and NAS

If it has reset you should be able to access it using 192.168.1.1

What hardrive have you installed in it?

I have to agree if this is the second one you have had and it is still not working, I would return it.
