      No internet

      I have a sky netgear router and off it I run 1 desktop computer (hard wired to router) and two laptops one wifi built in one with wifi card inserted.One other desktop computer was also working off wifi card,Had to system recover this computer and since then even though there is internet signal (full) on green indicator on screen cannot access internet,can however get on internet via other peoples connection in the street showing that desktop pc is ok and connection is ok.Seems like a setting fault but I am no PC whizz kid.Please help me someone

      Have you tried resetting the router?

      You could also do a factory reset, turn on and hold the red button in for 10 secs until the lights flash.

      Tried this but no joy,have noticed that there are no packets being sent or recieved, also when compared to the neighbours wifi connections they are all on channel 11 but mine is on 1 does this mean anything

      Ideally you need to keep the wireless channels away from each other by at least 3.

      ie, ine on 1, next on 4 and so on.

      When connected via ethernet, can you log into the router?

      Yes no problem.I have also fitted a new wifi card to the pc just in case it was that but it wasnt,being able to get on the net via other sources more or less told me that already though
