Question LED colour change for Printer

      Hi All,
I have added a HP Laserjet 4050N with Jetdirect 600N card to my home network that is based around the Netgear version of the Sky router DG834GT.

It is working fine but the LED for the router port I have the printer connected to is staying orange and not turning green.

Like I said above, everything is working fine, but can anyone tell me why the light is orange?

      10 mbps, rather than a 100 mbps network connection - I think.

Have a look at the documentation, some servers have jumpers to set the negotiation speed to 10 or 100Mb/s or it may be an option in the driver software.

Re: LED colour change for Printer

I think the older printserver cards 3xxN have jumpers to set speed/duplex..etc
You should be able to set the 600N via the menu display on the printer itself to 100FD or autodetect.
I think the setting is under section EIO 1 or something like that.
If you can communicate ok with it at 10mbit, you could put the printer's IP address into your browser and use the printserver's webserver to set it up...
