      wireless problem

      hi,
      I have a problem with my connection with my router and laptop.

      When im on the net sometimes i get message saying unsecured connection and then i lose connection altogether. I have to right click on network icon and repair then its works again. It happens alot when im downloading which is annoying. Im not sure if its a problem with the laptop or the router is faulty.

      Its the standard netgear router thats listed on my profile.

      Any advice would be a great help.

      chriso.

      Re: wireless problem

      What channel is it? It will say a number on the label on the bottom of the router.
      To access the router point IE to 192.168.0.1
      user name = admin
      password = sky
      Click on "Wireless Settings" in the blue area on left of page.
      Change channel by clicking the number and selecting a new one, scroll page down and click apply.
      I would start at 13 and work down.

      What OS are you running? It could be Vista looking for other networks which is causing the problem. If it is Vista, try downloading and using Vista anti lag from here - Downloads
