Link two sky routers one as access point

      Hi All
I was wondering if this would be possible..well I thought it was. Scenario two sky routers, v1 (white) the other v2 (dark grey). The v2 is connected to the adsl. I want to use the other one as an access point further down the house, as signal is crap. Also want to connect an xbox to the AP via ethernet.
Now I thought that if I disabled theDHCP on the v1 router and make two static routes one for the xbox and the other for the v1 - v2 thus enabling internet connection to xbox and any other wireless station that connects to the v1 box.
I have set the security keys the same on both routers but can't find where or how to set the static route in either router. v1 router also has static IP address
Any ideas would be greatful, thanks in advance

How are you connecting the 2 routers?
If you go to my website click on the 'Character' on the left there is a drawing of my old network does this match something you are proposing?

ish ...by your diagram it looks like the adsl modem/router is hard wired to your access point. I want / need that connection to be wireless. So I guess it would be by creating a bridge between the v1 router and the v2 router, re why I thought if I created a static route between the two routers I could achieve this, almost in effect creating a relay.

For this to work wirelessly one or both routers have to support WDS (wireless distribution system).

I know the v.1 router does not.
