Router Problems with phone line filter

      Hi

I have been using my sky wireless router without any problems for months now but it has suddenly stopped working.

Have found out that the problem lies with the filter where I plug the phone line in as well. I have tried new filter but still the same.

The only way I can get broadband to work is when I remove the telephone line. Basically it seems that as soon as I plug the phone line back into the filter, the internet stops working. This is annoying because I need to be able to use phone line as well as internet at the same time.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or can help in any way

      Thanks

Re: Router Problems with phone line filter

      Greetings,

Have you tried a different phone? The filters you've tried could be faulty but 2 being faulty is slim.. and as the internet works with no phone connected I'd be looking at the phone as the cause of the problem.

Thanks but I have tried another phone and still doesn't work. Could it be problem with the router itself?

Do you have an NTE5 linebox? If so remove the faceplate and plug into the Test socket, see link below. If the problem goes, you need a new faceplate.

You might also want to try reversing the RJ11 connecting cable between the filter and router.
