      Hey folks,
Im about to smack my sagem router into a wall. Ive been trying to portforward ANYTHING. with no success.

For arguments sake im tryin to portforward vnc java viewer.
      So i add the service
      enable it in the firewall
set the lan ip to my computer (192.168.0.1) Routers 192.168.0.2
Type in http://90.197.193.207:5800/ in explorer and **** all happens.

      Another example
      Shoutcast.
Add port 8000 to the service name it shoutcast
      add it to the firewall
      sent to lan 192.168.0.1
      enable, apply
type in http://90.197.193.207:8000/virtualdj.mp3 and again **** all happens.

So would some one please help me with my dilema before i ring sky and tell them that i accidently through it against a wall, please send me a netgear one .

      Eughhhhh!

      Thanks
      Jimmy

Did you have this working with another router? The Sagem does not like VPN, so it may be the same sort of problem.

Works with everyother router i've ever used.

Its like the port should be open ....but its not.

      Greetings,

If you're trying to connect to your external IP address from your own machine then getting a NetGear router wouldn't help much either.

Your machine is behind a NAT router and you won't be able to connect to your external IP address unless the orginating request comes from outside the LAN, as your inside it you won't get a connection.

In order to connect you'll need to either:
      1. connect to another mahine via Terminal Service/Remote Desktop and then back to your external IP
      2. get someone to test it for you.
