This is a discussion on Change of Router. within the Sky Router forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; yes, you can hardly expect Sky to provide a business standard service, with full fault back-up for 10 a month!!...

It's not considered 'business use' she is working from home, there is a difference.

Screw it, seems no matter how much I play with the new router it don't work.

      Re: Change of Router.

You should be able to connect your router to the Sky router to make use of it's superior capabilities. Many users on the forum have done this with their own routers and it also keeps you within the T & Cs.

but if she can't work from home and you complained to Sky you'd get laughed at (well, you wouldn't but you get what i mean)...Sky BB is for residential use only (ie. technically no servers, business use or making money from it) and any loss of earnings can't be claimed...

If she is working from home and conducting business from home using the internet connection I fail to see how it cannot be business use, she is using it in connection with the business hers or someone elses, it doesn't matter which.

      Re: Change of Router.

Because she is using the connection to login to a VPN.

In legal terms 'Business Use' is very different to 'Working from home'.

I see what you are saying, on the surface it appears to be the same, but when you get into contract law day to day terms that mean one thing suddenly mean another!

As I have said before I wouldn't be so much of an ass to complain to sky for a router that they have not supplied for me.
I just feel that they should allow an amount of flexability for those that request it, as long as it's made clear that Sky will not provide Tech Support for a router other than the one that they supplied to you.
      That seems fair.
