      Wifi Extender

I have 2 Sky Routers and I was wondering if there was some way I could use one of the routers to extend the range of the wireless network.

I know there would be a decreased performance etc, but it could be useful.

Is there an option for this in the Sky modified firmware on the routers?

If so could someone point me in the right direction since when I was flicking through I didn't see anything which seemed obvious.

      Thanks.

      Re: Wifi Extender

I know that some routers allow you to use another as an access point, however they would need to be connected via a ethernet need, they wouldn't connect to each other wirelessly, and I don't think sky routers have this, but could be in the original firmware. You could use a device that is designed to do the job of extending but they are not very cheap.

      Re: Wifi Extender

The easiest way is to pick up a couple of homeplugs, get one standard and one with a wifi extender built in, this way you can move it around as suits, even plug it in in the shed or on an extension lead in the garden for those barmy summer days

60ish for the pair, look on ebay for homeplugs etc.

      Re: Wifi Extender

It doesn't look like the Routers can double as an extender, thought it was a long shot so not too dissipointed.

      Thanks for your help.
