I've got an old BT Voyager 220v that I use to keep my coffee warm On the subject of routers, I have just spent an enjoyable day with my son and family, they are with UKonline and for Christmas he has treated them to one of those super-doper Billion 7420 gxl routers. With just about every variable, tweakble he has had a lot of fun, and seemed delighted that 94 got an increase of 200k over his old speedtouch. I think I'll stick with my Sagem!

Dont worry, you will get used to my sense of humour.
Any assistance is appreciated, thats what the forum is about.
I used to be on connect myself a couple of years ago, fortunately I upgraded to max before they started messing about with it.

Turn mine off everytime I'm done with it, takes 30secs to boot up and works straight away with no speed problems. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank with the money I save

I'm 100% agree with lumoruk on this one! Exactly the same as me. I always turn my off after I have finished using it. Firstly, I switch on my Netgear Router, plus my 8-port hub, and then my PC or laptop last! Takes about 30secs to boot up and its works straight away without any speed problems - always comes up as 15323 kbps - 15.3MB (its like a default setting). I don't see the point of leaving the router on all the time, even the Sky Engineer who has come to my house to install the dish, Sky+ & Sky boxes last year, May, strongly recommended the same method as me which is to switch off the router after finished using it! Its both save electricity and avoids having very huge errors building up.

      Lovely and money saving tip.....

If you have very huge errors building up dont you think it would be better to find out why and try to reduce them rather than pretend that they are not there ?

Would be nice to know what the root of those error build ups are .

If you could post your stats in a separate thread I'm sure we'd be able to get to the root of problems :.
