Netgear Problem - Dropping ADSL Light

I noticed this about 3 nights ago, my ADSL light had suddenly gone off, so i reset my router, and it came back on, and i could get back onto the internet, however, it was very slow.

So i reset the router again, and it was fine, until 10 minutes later, it went off AGAIN.

So i reset and eventually it it goes off.

I have tried different modem cables and different microfilters and plugged it into a different socket. Same problem.

Everytime i reset the light comes back on but eventually goes back off, but i remain connected wirelessly.

I believe its the router, does anyone else have this problem? Or any help?

I have phoned sky and they gave me useless help, i shall call them again tonight when i get home from work.

stats from the router will help first, as will info on how you're setup (e.g. socket in use)...

Re: Netgear Problem - Dropping ADSL Light

ok, only two lights are on the router the power light and the wireless light.

The tick light is off and the @ light is off.

Upstairs is where the router is connected, to the socket. i have a microfilter going into that socket then the modem cable going into the filter and into the router.

Downstairs socket, filter then phone connected.

i have tried both sockets and still same problem.

My phone is working fine though, when connected into the same socket as the router, or in seperate sockets.

Re: Netgear Problem - Dropping ADSL Light

this could be a problem with your internal wiring (may not be but faily easy to check), have a look in the cabling and faceplate forum (you will be looking for the master/test socket to do some tests)

I imagine your on connect. What times are you torrenting ? As on connect people are getting throttled between 17:00 and 23:00.

Re: Netgear Problem - Dropping ADSL Light

      whats connect?

i am torrenting right now, it is usually between 18:00 to 00:00, when i come home from work.

i am also noticing that, loading webpages is fairly slow compared to when i first had the internet up and running.

since i have had my interent, 3months now, i have always torrented between those hours though, and im now experiencing these problems.

Personally, i think its the router, thats goosed.
