      Re: Sagem F@ST 2504 issue

Yeah as i figured, ive tried it wired and the same issue.
Yesterday it was maxing out at 230kps give or take a few, which i can kind of live with, but i had to re-install windows yesterday coz my pc needed it badly!! Ive set up all the ip adress crap and fowarded the ports as before, but now it seems stuck at 20-20 kps. Im trying to get the latest episode of house so its got loads of peers and seeders. I've tried changing port numbers, ive installed the TCIP hack for windows that changes the packet size to 50 instead of 10 but still its bumbling along at 30 kps.
Oh and i ran speedtest and that says i got 2meg, so i havent a clue whats changed thats capped it
      Any ideas?

It may also have something to do with peak time throttling, especially with torrents and P2P.

      Re: Sagem F@ST 2504 issue

Ah yeah could be i guess, oh well not to worry.
So i know i might regret asking this but whats the drastic way of reseting my profile??
I really want a faster conection and to be fair, i am paying for it. If im giving my lodger money for broadband, i'd like an at least half decent speed and we should be getting that.
      Cheers guys

      Re: Sagem F@ST 2504 issue

This is the method that could be tried it involves creating excessive noise on your line. One way to do this is using a modem lead with an ordinary phone plug at one end, like the lead from a dial up modem, plug into the phone side of a filter. Allow the router to sync with the exchange for at least 75 mins, then plug in normally. This should have the effect of firstly lowering your Profile to a very low level, then when you put it back to normal it should then start retraining until it is finally set at a higher value. This could take 2-3days. I must emphasise that this may not work, especially if your Profile is truly stuck, your best bet is to get Sky to ask BT to fix it.
