      Sagem F@ST2504 Vs. White Netgear

Last week my line was activated, i had the Sagem attached and it simply refused to work. After several long phone calls with customer solutions i was sent a new router on the presumption that the one i had was just a lemon.

Here's the dilemma; the day after a new router was ordered the one i already had miraculously started working, and its been running pretty well since then.
I just received my new router in the post today and its a white Netgear V1.

Basically I'm after some advice, should i keep the first router that is working fine now or switch to the Netgear that Ive just received. From a technical standpoint which is the better one to keep a hold of?

A direct comparison of features, useability, maintenance and other sum such would be very helpful!

      Thanks

"you pays your money and take your choice" I would say keep the Sagem, others would disagree.

benefits of Phase 1 Netgear over Sagem:

wireless is 108Mbps as opposed to 54Mbps
you can get detailed stats from Netgear

I'm sure there are more but as I've never had either I can't comment...

Re: Sagem F@ST2504 Vs. White Netgear

I've been using the White Netgear for a few hours now, and there is very little difference, the only things that are slightly changed are my noise margin and line attenuation but those are only by 0.5db. I still connect at the same speed 7072kbps down & 384 up.

The router settings page for the Netgear is really ugly compared with the Sagem.

It seems a bit silly to pick something just because it looks nicer. But as my download speed is not even nearly approaching 54mb, which is where the sagem tops out, it appears that looks are the only differentiating factor!

Unless there is something Im missing?

I've never been asked for the duff one back, so keep both, use the one you prefer and if the worse comes and it fails youve got a spare.
