      Upstream snr problem

Hi, Probably a well known solution to this but I can't find it and Sky support only seem to be able to read from the script.

I have a Netgear DG934G V2 connected at broadband base. When the router powers up and initially connects it reports an upstream speed of 160 and a noise margin of 1dB. This seems to prevent any useful connection. Unplugging the phone line, letting it drop the connection & then reconnecting usually fixes this with an upsync of 384 and a noise margin of 14dB. The connection then works fine.

This is becoming a pain. Anyone any idea how to get a permanent fix? Thanks.

This is one of the 'features' of the netgear. The only way to get this fixed is to get through to CST and they can change a few settings on your line. This will fix your issue.

Call them up and say you have an intermittent connection. When you get through to CST explain about 160 issue, and the agent should then change a few things.

Give them a call after 10:30 when it is a little quieter

      Thanks Googleme.

Lets face it, there are no bugs only features. Any more info on exactly what changes Sky are likely to make?
