Re: Wireless N router from sky Hi
Yes Sky does have a new N router...... its their new Netgear n router (sorry unsure of the model number yet) , the reason i know this is that ive been having issues regarding wifi signal with there Sagemcom F@ST 2304N (not only one but 3 ) the issue being that not only my desk top but also my laptop and blackberry mobile has problems geting a wifi signal if its further than 5 meters away from the router ??, which seems pointless to me it being wireless (ive also incountered internet connection on all 3) so after hrs of 'on the phone help', they have decided to send me there new Netgear N router for free (prob in fear that i might go elsewhere) which would have cost me an extra £35 ......... i will post the model number in the next few days when it arrives if anyone else is in need of it

Re: Wireless N router from sky
I've been off on annual leave for a bit, so I can't confirm if this is true or false. Perhaps a Sky employee can comment on whether this is correct?
Edit: My cynical side is saying you're going to receive a standard b/g router, but I could be wrong if this changed recently whereby Sky are sending netgear N routers now.

Re: Wireless N router from sky
N series router are only being sent out if you pay for one, unless you get someone on the end of the phone that's nice and has a decent reason to send you one out free of charge.
The N series router are also Sagem ones, not Netgear. Not heard of someone receiving a Netger N Series from Sky before .

Re: Wireless N router from sky
The Sagem 2304n is not strictly a WiFi n router. It is not a certified WiFi n router and the connection speed on the WiFi is no more than 72mb/s.
The Sagem 2504N is a WiFi n router. It is certified as being WiFi n. The connection speed is up to 144mb/s. It also has a WPS button for those who prefer to connect without typing in the network key (WiFi password).
Until now existing customers prior to mid-August 2011 have been offered only the Sagem 2504N for £35. A few members of this forum have attempted to get the router for free, but have ended up with one of the older routers.
Anyone joining Sky now will (should!??!) be sent the Sagem 2504N. Should it break down, then it will be replaced with a Sagem 2504N.

Re: Wireless N router from sky
This thread is over 3 years old, at the time it was published Sky did not have a wireless N router. Anyone taking a cursory glance through recent threads would know that Sky now have 2 so called wireless N routers.

Re: Wireless N router from sky
If the first Sagem the 2504 was Phase 1 and the 2304N phase 2, then the 2504N will be phase 3.
