Exclamation Unable to get username / password from router.

      Hey all,

I have Sky's black Netgear router but I would much prefer to use my Belkin N1 Vision, but I have been looking through the forums and none of the methods seem to be working, I have tried the generator as well as the URL injection method.

      I have firmware version V2.02.34.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks!

Re: Unable to get username / password from router.

When using the password generator it is important to key in the info required as it is displayed, so the LAN mac would be **:**: etc and as you have a Netgear the serial number is prob case sensitive as well.

      Have another go

actually, MAC should be entered without punctuation (well, it worked for me doing it as reference with my Phase 2 Netgear - tallies up with records at work)...

Re: Unable to get username / password from router.

Yeah, I already tried that, it gave me the username and password, but they didn't work. The router would connect to the ADSL, but not be able to connect to Sky.

Tried again, same result. I didn't use any punctuation, just one long string.

Any more ideas, I really want to use my N1!

Enter the info exactly as displayed, this generator is known to work so you must be doing something wrong.

Yup, checked all of the settings again, they all appear as they should.

Yeah, I realise that, I just don't know *what* it is that I'm doing wrong.

Should I post some screenshots to confirm that what I've done is correct?

Most common problem is mistyping e.g. typing I not 1, O not 0 etc.

I think he already has the details, but can't get the router to connect.

Are you sure you have set the encapsulation right. Many many routers come with it defaulted to PPPoE, it should be PPPoA.
