      i had the same trouble that you have experienced,where my noise levels were ok during the day,but at night went down to zero or less,then i would get dissconnections.
      I had this problem for roughly 3 months,and to be honest sky were really helpful,even got bt out ,who put a new drop wire in,but that didnt cure it.
      So one day i tried a old lynksys router i had,and the noise levels held ok at night.
      Told sky about my experiment with the non sky router,and they sent me out a new one(sagem), had no troubles since.
      Now just waitng for sky to ring me back on monday,to hopefully get my speed increased.

      Thanks, I'll give Sky a call tonight and see what they will do. Tbh, if they won't replace it for a Sagem, I'm just going to move to Be*.

      Wouldn't it be easier to buy a router with the chipset you want? For example, there are usually loads of ex Sky DG843GTs (Broadcom) on Ebay that often go for under 10.

      But it's not the point. We're bound by Sky's T&Cs that say we have to use their router, so I don't want to do that. I've requested my MAC and will be moving to Be, who:

      a) provide a router with a good chipset;
      b) have free support;
      c) allow you to tweak your own target SNRM;
      d) connect everyone on ADSL2+, and give you the option to sync using ADSL2 if ADSL2+ is not stable.

      It makes sense really.

      Good luck with Be - I use them for my work connection. Their ordering process, their 'keeping you up to date' regular texts, and overall service is outstanding.

      I have been with them for about 5 / 6 months and never ever had an issue, apart from the second hand pile of rubbish they sent me as a router. Nothing a phone call couldn't sort.

      Just be aware there is a three month notice for cancellation.
