Connected, no internet, web page freezes

Ive had this problem for a few days now. Both LAN and Wireless show excellent connections, shown by the little monitor on the task bar, but whenever I open firefox, Internet explorer of safari the web page progress bar fills up about 3/4 full before freezing, sometimes displaying server not found. Tried unplugging etherenet cable and trying wirless, still same problem. And also when turning off wireless and plugging in ethernetb cable, no such luck.

My router lights are all green and I have no idea how to solve this. Tried phoning Sky and they were pretty hopeless. Can anyone please help me!!

      Thanks in advance

Have you updated any antivirus or firewalls recently? It may be worth disabling them for a test to see if this is the problem, I had something similar not to long ago. Turned out to be a Zonealarm update my PC didn't like which was installed automatically.

May also be worth starting in safe mode to test aswell.

Yeh ive tried it with turning off my firewalls but no luck. I had spybot installed but after I uninstalled it I still have the problem. Its seriously annoying cos I can connect to other wireless networks no bother!!!

Remember it will have to be Safe Mode with Networking or you will not be able to connect at all. If you can't get F8 to work, open the Run box type msconfig, select the boot tab, then select Safe boot and tick the Network button at the bottom.
