problems connecting xbox, MTU??

Hi All,
This is my first post and hoping someone can help us, I have contacted sky technicial but they couldnt answer my questions or help unfortunately.

We have a netgear dg934g router, we have been able to connect to the x-box fine until today when it was saying the connection to the MTU (Maximum Transmission unit) failed for connection to xbox live. I dont know if we are adsl1 or 2 in fact i dont even know what this is, sorry bit of a novice here. Got my kids staying with me who have sad faces waiting to get on live, oooppps.
All help greatly appreciated.

my son just had same problem - came on here for help, showed him your post and he suddenly remembered xbox live is down for 24 hours. Think it's back at 1am tomorrow

i've just had this same problem, completly forgot about the update, but what if this problem occurs after the updates over :|

haha, suddenly my boys remembered the update on reading your relies, many thanks and hopefully we will connect once updates completed.

if it doesn't connect it is unlikely to be this problem , as your mtu setting will have always been insufficient !!
if you have this problem at another time you need to go to your router software and check the mtu setting is at least 1364 - sky technical help will talk you through this

Always has connected in the past so hopefully it will once the updates are all done, phoned sky technicial and they had no idea how to get to settings for the MTU nor what they were, They suggested i phone microsoft.

It's just because Xbox Live is down for maintenence, you shouldn't have a problem with MTU once it comes back live.
