      Unhappy Linksys DMA2100

      Hi

Having a prob with my new Linksys DMA2100 and my Sky Sagem ? (Black) wireless router. Basically the router has been working fine (the odd drop out here and there but nothing to worry about) but when i try and connect this Windows Media Extender it basically drops the network connection to both the extneder and the PC. It sort of worked for a short period, but it doesn't seem to handle the large files at all !? Anyone cleverer than me (not difficult) out there got any solutions or suggestions for settings or such like ? There's a shiny new penny in it for you if you can solve this for me - it's driving me mad.

      thanks

      Re: Linksys DMA2100

      Two starting points:

      1. Have you made sure all are on the same Network, especially the DMA2100?

      2. Have you made sure you are using the same WiFi standards throughout? (ie encryption method and key).

If it all works OK until you introduce the DMA2100 then it may well be its Network settings needs sorting out. However the DMA2100 may have WiFi speeds not available on the Sky Router and you may have a mis-match.

      Re: Linksys DMA2100

thanks for the suggestions, the two are definitely on the same network using the same type of encryption and wep key etc. - that was one of my forst thoughts too when i was trying to solve it - but no luck. I thikn you are right it might just be a mis-match with speed etc. and being 'locked' to the sky router menas i think i will just be taking the Linksys back and probably just connecting the laptop directly to the plasma whenever i need to.

      thanks again for the suggestions.
